Walking Dead Presentation

Feedback:
From Kat and Sharon

  • The back story to the characters is good and makes sense
  • It is a positive and interesting idea creating a female villain
  • Likes plans to look into how an apocalyptic world will take its toll on someone
  • Needed more female images that linked better to Mrs Laderman in my presentation (as some of the male images were contradicting what I was saying)
  • Explore how Claudia keeps a hold over Mrs Laderman and why she wouldn't just run away
  • Re-design the mood boards as they are too fashion based
  • Find references outside the tv series (i.e war and destruction)
  • Look at how women in horror may look worn down but are powerful and evil (Claudia)
  • Bad guys always have a tell-tale sign - i.e eye patch or a scar
Self Reflection:
I was very pleased with my powerpoint and enjoyed the process of creating it as it helped me develop my characters further in an easy way. I was extremely nervous to present as it is not my favourite thing to do! I feel like I develivered my information clearly and as both Kat and Sharon liked my character concepts and how they would fit into the story I feel I was confident in my ideas. From the feed back, I need to research more away from just directly into the tv series and I completely agree. This means I will have an original character with legitimate research to back it up. It will open up more ideas to delve into, like the battle between good and evil or the effects of malnutrition. Sharon's comment about my mood boards made a lot of sense and I will re-evaluate the images and find more atmospheric and character-related images as opposed to makeup looks and the show is not about prestene makeup (in fact there barely is any!). I also want to develop and show my sfx skills more so in this project. Overall, this was a very useful activity as I have tons of ideas to explore to help me get this project started and has given me the confidence to be able to present my ideas to a group confidently again!
