Claudia & Mrs Laderman

Claudia 

• Claudia is a girl in her twenties. As a child she was left alone to develop with little parental guidance and through her relationship with T.V. movies developed an unhealthy relationship with Horror films, believing this to be the way life really is.
• All the scenes take place in various parts of Claudia’s apartment, which is European in style with a great deal of kitsch décor. She is agoraphobic and is kept in touch with the outside world by her neighbours who provide her with her every day requirements.  She models herself on a variety of girls often twisting her look to suit whichever film she is watching at the time and there is often a nod to the main character in the current film within her appearance.
• The script portrays her as psychotic and there is always the feeling that although her character is scripted/can be seen as humorous, danger is just around the corner.   However all this is normal to Claudia and she is of a cheerful disposition in this mad world of hers.

Amongst the zombies and disasters, there is always a bad guy. Whether it’s cannibals or a jealous best friend, there is always something extra in the way of survival. Interestingly, there has never been a female villain. I want to make Claudia a villain by embracing the aspects of the character profile we have been given. ‘She is agoraphobic and is kept in touch with the outside world by her neighbours who provide her with her every day requirements’. I want to make her every day requirements humans that she murders and eats as the food in the world is slowly running out. She will blackmail and threaten her neighbour into delivering her these people. She has ‘developed an unhealthy relationship with Horror films, believing this to be the way life really is’. After years of watching gruesome murder and zombie films herself, her mind is warped and murders humans in horrific ways and feasts on them much like a zombie. ‘All the scenes take place in various parts of Claudia’s apartment, which is European in style with a great deal of kitsch décor’. The murders will take place in her home and the kitsch wallpapers will be splattered with blood. The house will also be run down following the apocalyptic lifestyle. As she has become obsessed with classic horror movies, she takes inspiration from iconic Femme Fatale’s. As it is still the end of the world, her appearance will be a roughened up version of this sultry look. Her makeup will be light, as products would be limited in this world, but a bold dark lip will always be present. Claudia will be portrayed in a scene where she has just been delivered an injured human and her hands will be bloody and marks on her clothes and face will be apparent.

There have previously been cannibals featured in the Walking Dead so it will be fun to explore having just one threatening cannibal in a secluded and private location. I imagine her look to be similar to Enid's in the second photo but with more glamour!

Mrs Laderman

• Claudia’s neighbour in her 40’s. She alternately changes into a variety alter egos and is Claudia’s friend and confidant. Living in the apartment opposite, she was Claudia’s only link to the outside world. Although they are friends there is suspicion that Mrs L has desires on Quentin. In fact she has desires on Claudia.

My interpretation

Mrs Laderman is Claudia’s neighbour. According to her character profile, she is living in the apartment opposite, she was Claudia’s only link to the outside world. Claudia takes full advantage of this and emotionally blackmails her to injure other humans and deliver them to her to be slaughtered. Claudia threatens to kill her and leave her to turn into a zombie if she does not do so. It is also told in the character profile she has romantic feelings towards Claudia, similar to Stockholm Syndrome, and therefore continues to do whatever she says. Much like the current Walking Dead characters, she will be dirtied down, sweaty and splatter with blood after fighting off the zombies – and collecting Claudia’s prey. I feel like she will be a good portrayal to fit in with other Walking Dead characters and will keep my project well linked with my chosen show.
