SFX Makeup Ideas

As I my chosen specialism in second year is special effects makeup, I want to include some sfx makeup to start practising! As we have had practice as well with Sue in our technical lessons I'll hopefully be able to execute it well. Part of the reason for choosing The Walking Dead for this unit was to explore elements of gore and injuries!
My first character Claudia is isolated in a sheltered life and small space in her apartment. As she is not involved in the outside world of the zombie apocalypse, there would not be many occasions for her to gain injuries like scratches or cuts, however, in the scene I am portraying her in she has just been bitten by a 'walker'.
It's a fresh bite so the blood will be bright and as I want it to positioned on the collar bone/neck I need to figure out how heavy the blood flow will be (for the blood trickling out of the bite).
I wanted to position my bite starting on the neck down to the collarbone. In this diagram, it seems there is a muscle and a vein in the area on the left hand side of the image. 'Venous bleeding: This blood is flowing from a damaged vein. As a result, it will be blackish in colour (due to the lack of oxygen being transported) and will flow in a steady manner. Caution is still indicated; while the blood loss may not be arterial, it can still be quite substantial, and can occur with surprising speed without intervention.' Therefore, the blood leaving the injury will be dark red and pretty substantial, but not spurts of bright red blood!

I have ordered a pre-made bite as I have not been taught how to make our own silicon or gelatine moulds yet. I was thinking about creating it from wax but I do not think it would be as effective. From the same makeup supplier I ordered glue, gelatine blender (witch hazel) and remover so I'll be able to practise this before applying it for the final shoot. I will use supra colour, foundation and artificial blood to colour it.
Mrs Laderman has quite a different experience to Claudia in the apocalyptic world. Amongst the dirty makeup I shall do, I want to include a couple of cuts across her face and body. As she would've come across walkers that try and attack as well as humans defending themselves whilst she kidnaps them for Claudia. As the submission requires a portrait shot and a half-length shot, I will focus the the cuts on the face and potentially the arms depending on the styling (if the arms are covered). I will use the skills we learnt in our technical lesson producing cuts to execute this with wax, latex and blood. The colour of the blood compared to Claudia's on her injury will be much darker as it is not fresh.

I have included this youtube video to demonstrate the sfx makeup currently in the Walking Dead and the process it takes to create the 'walkers' and injuries interests me massively.
