Sixties Inspired Commerical Shoot - MUA and Hair Collaboration

Just before Christmas, I took a chance and volunteered to help a fashion photography student with her commercial shoot. She briefed with with images of icons such as Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy to capture the signature cut crease eye look matched with a matte nude lip and a messy, curly beehive hairdo.

I was extremely nervous about being fully responsible for a design and application on my own and impressing the 'client'. I made sure my surface was clean by laying down a black towel and laying out all my products. I confirmed with the model her skin type and any contraindications or skin complaints and proceeded to prep the skin. As this particular model had been shooting earlier on in the day she had heavy eye makeup on already that I did ask her to remove the mascara from. It was a great experience as Danielle was very friendly and encouraging and invited me on set once I had completed Asia's look. It also gave me the chance to put health and safety into action outside of the classroom The vibe of being on in fashion photographic studio is always a positive and fun experience which I hope is carried on throughout my future career.
